How do you feel about the current state of Voltage Inc.?

In the past 2-3 years, I've been getting a bit of burnout/losing interest in Voltage's games, more particularly their Love 365 game.

In the past two years I haven't had as much interests in their newer Love 365 titles. It used to be that I was excited for their newer titles and storylines. But now when they announce a new title or add in a new season or add new love interests, I don't feel that excitement. Like did we really need two new love interests for Irresistible Mistakes when they had already added three? If anything I liked their older titles a lot more as well as the LIs from said older titles. The new ones just aren't doing it for me. That isn't to say their newer titles are bad. I can see the appeal in them but I don't feel excited for them. Especially when some of them are Love Choice which I think killed the appeal of the newer titles. Do I really need to spend more than $20 to get the full experience of a story? That and there's the issue with monetization.

Not to mention I have issues with their decision making about certain titles. Like how Rose in the Embers was just left in the dust with some of the characters not getting their stories wrapped up, or how with they stopped updates for Kings of Paradise (even removing two of the LIs from their list) and Tokyo Love Hustle. And I get it, they're a business and they want to update their more popular titles and those take more of a priority. But even then, I just want something new, not the same thing again, which is why I feel that some of the content is dry. And it shows that more people are gravitating to other otome/joseimuke games like Obey Me, Tears of Themis, Love and Deepspace, and other apps (then again those are gacha and that's an issue in and of itself). They still have an audience, especially in Japan but even then the popularity is waning down.

I should say that my interest in them did peak when they released Even if Tempest. Having played it a few months ago, I saw that Voltage does have the potential to write great stories and characters. I'd go far as to say that Even if Tempest is one of their best stories to day. It's not without its flaws but I loved it and it showed just what Voltage can do. And because of it, I'm hella excited for their new Switch titles.

As much as my interest has been going down, I still think Voltage has a strong influence in the otome genre and it was because of Kissed by the Baddest Bidder that got me into otome games. Their games will hold a special place in my heart even if I don't play them as much anymore.
