Was Omar White autistic?

Obviously a different societal understanding about autism now than 20+ years ago. But seeing the episodes again in retrospect, the end of his character when he explained physics out of nowhere has a "Yeah, this guy was actually Rain Man all along" feel to it.

Everything White does is so anti-social and impulsive with little to no regard for consequences. The only other people in the show like that were Cyril O'Reilly, William Giles and Jazz Hoyt at times. All three had well documented mental issues of some sort. Also, every conversation White has, it's like he's talking with himself rather than trying to actually engage the other person.
