Do you guys have a personal relationship with the deities?

I recently left Christianity and became agnostic a couple years ago. I've been curious about paganism because I find that I really miss having a higher power to worship. Growing up Christian I was always taught that Christianity is the only religion where we had a personal relationship with god. It's something most Christians brag about to try and convert people to Christianity. But then I'm learning about paganism and some of you actually have relationships with the deities. Like if that's true then everything I've been taught in the church is completely bullshit.
