anyone change careers away from paralegal?

I work at my county public defenders office. I've been here for 5 years and it was my 1st paralegal job. I'm finishing my bachelor's in paralegal studies and minoring in psychology. I'm discovering I'm enjoying the psych classes more. I live in a LCOL area and my boss works hard to petition the county government for raises. I do like my job, but I have a hard time seeing myself there for the next 30 years. There's not many options in my area without driving an hour to Indy. I'm thinking about getting my masters on counseling and switching careers once I'm done. I haven't decided yet, but as great as government benefits are, the bureaucracy has me maxed out on salary. Sorry for the rambling, I wanted to see in anyone was contemplating a career change.
