Group of people going around neighborhoods moving debris around
I noticed a group of young adults and teenagers going down my street with shovels and moving the debris (mostly tree and palm leaves) from the street back onto people’s yards. They didn’t seem to be part of any official organization but some were wearing name tags on their shirts.
It seemed like maybe they were part of a church group and trying to be helpful, but I can’t help but think they were actually making things worse. All the neighbors on my street were cleaning our yards and street of the debris making clean piles on the street next to the curb for city crews to pick up. Every year when we have wind storms we do this. But this group of young adults were going around with shovels and just scooping it and placing it all one foot over back onto people’s yards. What are they doing and who advised this?
It’s nice they’re trying to help, but this actually creates more work for the residents and city employees who eventually were going to clean the debris off the street.
Anyone else see this crew of young adults and teenagers?
