Need some help

I created a PayPal business account about a month ago and have received 4-5 orders since then. However, one of the orders had a dispute because I had to ship the item from the UK to the US, which took some time. The customer wasn’t willing to wait and opened a dispute.

The item has now been delivered, but the customer hasn’t closed the dispute yet. PayPal has asked us to resolve the case mutually by January 23. If neither the buyer nor I take any action by that date, the dispute will automatically close.

I want to know if, in this case, the payment will be refunded to the buyer if no action is taken. I don’t want to escalate this case to PayPal because I’m concerned it might impact my account history.
