Those of you who can only play competitive multiplayer games, why do you find it difficult to play single player games?
For those of you who can play single player games, awesome, go have fun. But for those of you who can't, can you articulate why? For me personally, I feel that in a multiplayer game, because I'm beating a real person and proving I'm better it feels that there's actual weight to the decisions I make. In a single player game I get bored basically 10 minutes in when I realize the only thing I'm beating are AI who have no understanding of how badly I just wrecked them, there's no reverse psychology, no strategy. In a single player game I'm playing a curated path set out by the game developer who accounted for and designed every action I can take. And it feels like I have absolutely zero agency because of it.
