Are my motherboard and cpu compatible

I’m making a pc for the first time and I’ve bought a ryzen 5600 and a ASUS prime b550m but I’ve heard conflicting information of people saying they are not compatible,there a lot of talk about BIOS stuff but I have no clue how to update that on my motherboard if needed
