Going into 2025 with a new PC

My old PC was an i3, GTX1060, and 16gb of ram. Ran lower end games fine but found I wasn’t able to enjoy higher spec games at all. Massive stuttering and cpu bottlenecks.

Started gathering the parts around mid-November and put it together just before Christmas.

From Amazon: XFX Merc 310 7900XT, Corsair Vengeance 32GB ram, Western Digital Black 850 2TB

From AliExpress: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

From local shop: AS Rock B650 Steel Legend Motherboard, Montech Sky Two GX case, Deepcool Mystique 360, FSP Vita 1000w PSU, MSI MAG 271 QPX OLED 360hz, Coolermaster Mobius 120mm Fan.

Some notes about the building process. Made post fine. Didn’t put the z-bracket (anti sag) for the GPU at first cause worried about clearance with front fans but it definitely needed it so I fixed that fast.

AliExpress CPU was my biggest worry but it arrived safely albeit in a tray and 10days on it’s still running fine. The case was a joy to work with lots of room.

The lcd on the Mystique is buggy (lots of comm errors between LCD and app) your mileage may vary but I’m hesitant to recommend this AIO to anyone until they fix it.

First time using an OLED monitor and it’s vivid. Amazing to play on but maybe I would have been fine with the 240hz model 😅

Picked up Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam sale so I’ll finally be able to play that.
