Exit strategy

So I am still green to pennystocks and have no clue about an exit strategy, buying in is the easy part but exiting is tough

Some strategies people mention

1) Set stop limit at 100% to sell half shares

  • this is in order to get back 100% investment

2) Set a trailing stop loss at 20%

  • That way if it goes up you can even make some profit on the top instead of cutting it at 100% investment only you can take some money as well

But their is other factors that I wanted to ask you guys about

What about long term holds? If you are long term on a stock, say TSNP for example, and it goes up 100-500% in a week isn't it smart to sell half?

Second factor is what do you do after selling investment? Do you let free shares ride indefinitely or until all catalysts been met? Often I see people say they sold or closed their position only for a stock to have gone you up afterwards. I know this depends on what you value the company and whether you think its under or over valued but its tough to do with pennystocks to give them an accurate price. But I feel like for these situations if you are on a long term solar play lets say SNPW, its pretty safe to leave free shares for next 3-5 years but not sure about other companies was curious to hear what you guys say

Is selling initial investment a pretty fail safe method and should be applied regardless of long term outlook or how bullish you are on a stock?
