Pokemon Fan Game: Play AS a pokemon?

I have a particular itch when it comes to pokemon games that hasn't really ever been scratched: To play AS a pokemon in real time. I was trying to find fan games that scratch that itch, but it seems like all of them are ones where you play as trainers. Real games have come close-but-not-quite to scratching this itch:

• Mystery Dungeon games are turn based and I find playing them and going through dungeons to be a little tedious.
• Pokemon Quest is more interesting, but you can't actually control the pokemon.
• Pokemon Unite probably comes closest, but (barring some rare game modes) it is strictly competitive multiplayer, instead of having cooperative or single player modes, and you basically buy the pokemon.
