Weird experience with Chiropractor while pregnant

I’ve been having some issues with my hips during pregnancy that started about a month ago, and after mentioning it to my midwife, she recommended a chiropractor to me. She said it was the same chiropractor she used while she was pregnant last year. I’ve never been, but was willing to try since a certain number of appts are covered by insurance.

I went in today at 18w 4d, and the female chiropractor kept talking about how I was “super early” and “not that pregnant” which honestly I am sick and tired of hearing as a FTM. Like I get it, but this is the most pregnant I’ve ever been, and at what point will I be pregnant enough for people to stop telling me this?? Also, I have a super long torso and am not really showing, even though my uterus has reached my belly button (per my midwife). So maybe she thought I was 8 weeks instead of 18?

When she showed me the table to lay on stomach down, she kept talking about how the table would be “so comfortable when you’re more pregnant!” And then proceeded to ram part of the table up directly into my uterus and press hard on the baby (I’m carrying very low) To the point of pain, where I had to lift myself off the table and tell her, “that’s where the baby is!” And she responded “see how much room there will be for when you have a belly!” Like she wasn’t even listening or paying attention to the fact that I was physically uncomfortable.

Then, when she asked me about who referred me, I mentioned my midwife by name (and included her title and office) and she said that she had never heard of her. I was very confused since my midwife had told me that she was a recent patient to this specific chiropractor!

The whole appointment was 10 minutes of her doing a lot of talking and very little listening. She did three adjustments and then told me to schedule another appt for Friday.

Is this normal? I’ve never been to a chiropractor before and I’m not super happy with the experience regarding the way she discussed my pregnancy and how she put unnecessary pressure on my uterus, but also the rest of the appt just felt like a money grab. Like she didn’t really care about me as a patient and just wanted me in and out to collect my payment.

[Edit: She’s not Webster certified, and I’ve decided I’m not willing to risk harm to my baby with this specific person again so I’m cancelling my next appointment.

I’ve contacted my primary care physician about getting a referral for PT instead of relying on a personal recommendation from my midwife (who I suspect may be getting $$ kickbacks from this chiropractor). Will also bring my concerns about this chiropractor up to my midwife at my next appt.]
