Anyone considering or have had a planned c-section?

(CW: Birth Injury and Loss)

26 weeks with my first baby and realizing she is going to be here in 3 months. I've been weighing the risks of vaginal delivery vs. planned c-section and feel like I'm leaning towards a c-section.

The things that I worry about the most for vaginal delivery are the risk of severe tearing, baby getting stuck or being stillborn. Also incontinence, stitches and permanent damage/scarring down there. It just seems like there's too much risk of trauma to me and baby and it's just not something I want to go through. I know plenty of people have had great vaginal deliveries and recovery and I did consider it for a while.

With a c-section I know recovery is rough and it comes with its own set of risks, but I feel like the control of knowing the process and what to expect would help me a lot. I plan to discuss all of this with my OB at my next appointment coming up.

If anyone is feeling the same, or has experience with a planned c-section, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks for reading and take care.

Edit: I wasn't expecting so many responses, thank you all so much for sharing.

I understand that a c-section is a major surgery, I've researched and weighed the risks extensively and know that's the decision I want to make for myself.

I'm just looking to hear from those of you with planned c-section experience or who are considering it.

Please stop trying to convince me about vaginal births, I've already made it clear that's not the point of this post. I'm not trying to start a debate.
