Too Much Vitamin A?
I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow, and I've been suffering with what I think is Hyperemesis Gravidarum since week 6. One of my safe foods has become cereal and milk. I love the fact that it's cold and refreshing and has no smell and mild flavors, and I don't have to put up with any cooking smells to get it. Lol. I was already worried about the sugar content (I started with cheerios but got sick of those and moved onto plain shredded wheat with a little bit of honey but got sick of that and now have been trying other healthy-ish cereals but they all still have sugar, and I do feel that). But, it's been dawning on me that these cereals are also fortified with vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A. My prenatal has 50% the daily recommendation, and the cereals I eat each have 25%, and I have several bowls a day. Should I be worried about OD'ing on vitamin A for my baby's sake, or would the danger only come at higher doses?
