Trigger Warning- Pregnancy Calories
For context, a few years before I got pregnant I dropped 100 pounds and got into a healthy BMI. Now I try to watch what I eat because I remember how long and hard it was for me to loose that weight. I want to gain the recommended 20-35 pounds for pregnancy, but ideally not more than that so I can recover quickly.
Anyways, I read in the first trimester you really shouldn’t be eating any extra calories. I’m at week 9, so 3 more weeks to go, and I’ve been absolutely ravished. I find myself snacking here and there and definitely eating some extra calories.
Mamas that counted, did you wait until week 12 to add on the extra snacks, or did you start sooner? Did you do the recommended 340 extra calories in the second trimester?
Thank you! Just a mom trying to navigate health and the hardship of pregnancy.
