Weird stabbing pains... Really early Braxton Hicks? Something else?

Hi all, 16+3 here with a baby girl. I was just lounging on the couch tonight and got this weird stabbing pain on my left side. It was kind of like menstrual cramps in the way that they can start off gradually and then increase. It was close to my hip but kinda radiated through to the center of my lower abdomen. At moments of time it kinda took my breath away and made it hard to breathe. The whole thing went on for probably about 1-2 minutes and now I feel totally normal again. I don't think it was round ligament pain because I wasn't moving or anything and I think I know what that feels like (I think). Has anyone had this? Is it OK? I've read that you can have really early Braxton Hicks but I didn't think they'd be painful this early on?
