Mcgill GPA question

For the current application cycle (2023-2024) we have to enter GPA information for each institution we went to and convert it to the Mcgill equivalent through https://www.mcgill.ca/gradapplicants/how-apply/application-steps/equivalency .

My school uses percentages and letters and my average ended up being 88.7 % across all the courses from this school using %. Based on the above link, that would count as a 4.0 GPA, or am I misunderstanding something here...Seems odd that anything above an 85% average is automatically 4.0?
