Question about Gecko Car Rental

I am arriving in Puerto Vallarta at 7pm, and have reserved a car with Gecko. They said they can leave the car at the airport for us, but require us to send them an image of my credit card and drivers license over WhatsApp, which I am a little bit nervous to send in such an unsecure method. Has anyone had any experience with this or know if it's OK?
