Why are people so salty?

A 16 year old posted his first pc build that he was proud of and many people started flaming him for using "daddy's money" and that when they were his age they had an ancient pc on 512mb ram. I commented that I'm also 16 year old and employed and if I saved up for a couple of months I could get the same pc and I got downvoted.
