It’s genuinely shocking how atrocious the Reddit’s app is on iOS.

  • you can’t edit text if it’s a few lines above, if you try and move your cursor it just jumps back to the last word

  • you can’t highlight the whole comment/post in the editor, it just de-highlights if you try to cover too much text

  • the homepage becomes randomly unresponsive, you can’t click and enter posts, vote etc., only scroll until you restart the app

  • videos will randomly have sound turn off

  • clicking on a comment in a thread collapses the whole column. I perpetually find myself having to look for the comment I was reading after accidental presses. Why can’t we disable this?

This has been happening literally for years now and I guess I just don’t understand how a company as large as Reddit is unable to fix simple text editing on a platform based around creating written content. I would have hoped to see improvement after essentially forcing people to use your app only.

I’ve been a user for more than a decade. You’re abusing the monopoly that you have on this type of social media. It didn’t used to be like this, it didn’t feel like the user base is being neglected - what happened?
