It’s genuinely shocking how atrocious the Reddit’s app is on iOS.
you can’t edit text if it’s a few lines above, if you try and move your cursor it just jumps back to the last word
you can’t highlight the whole comment/post in the editor, it just de-highlights if you try to cover too much text
the homepage becomes randomly unresponsive, you can’t click and enter posts, vote etc., only scroll until you restart the app
videos will randomly have sound turn off
clicking on a comment in a thread collapses the whole column. I perpetually find myself having to look for the comment I was reading after accidental presses. Why can’t we disable this?
This has been happening literally for years now and I guess I just don’t understand how a company as large as Reddit is unable to fix simple text editing on a platform based around creating written content. I would have hoped to see improvement after essentially forcing people to use your app only.
I’ve been a user for more than a decade. You’re abusing the monopoly that you have on this type of social media. It didn’t used to be like this, it didn’t feel like the user base is being neglected - what happened?
