Crush advice

Sorry for my English, I hope I'm gonna be understood 😊

I'm 17 and I'm in a boarding school. Thursday it's gonna be the "boarding school party". In my highschool and like everywhere, the students are divided in two categories : popular and unpopular. (popular students are rugbyman, I'm in a sport highschool (?) )

There is a guy in my boarding who is a rugby man and maybe I have a crush on him. They are extravert, friendly with everyone but I'm scared I will be rejected because I'm not a popular girl. In fact it don't bother me to be like that because 90% of the students are like that, but it's the judgement of this guy (and the group) who scared me. How can I approche him without being awkward, and what can I say ?

(We looked at each other every time we see each other , but it's probably because I'm a stalker haha god I'm scary .)
