Accidentally called my fiancé’s (31M) name by his brother’s instead. I (28F) don’t know how and why it happened. And no, I don’t have any feeling or attraction towards the brother.

As titled, I (28F) accidentally called my fiancé’s (31M) name by his brother’s name twice in the past few days when talking to his family.

Then the second time: I was talking directly to THE brother, and I accidentally referred to my fiancé by his name instead. It’s really embarrassing and I don’t want him or his family to think of anything weird, because I really don’t know how and why it happened. It literally just slipped even though I was completely thinking about my fiancé when telling the story, but it’s just his brother’s name that was said instead. I don’t have any attraction or feelings towards the brother.

This never happened when I referred my fiancé to my friends/family, but it happens when I’m talking to his family. I don’t really call my fiancé by name - I call him baby and it’s really rare for me to mention his name even to my family/friends. I guess I’m just not used to it, and I had a lot of coworkers/people I used to know whose names are the brother’s. I think that’s the main reason, but I don’t know how to prevent that slip up from happening in the future. Any recommendation or advise?

Thanks!

TL;DR referred to my fiancé by his brother’s name when talking to his family twice in the past few days when visiting his hometown. It never happened before. I don’t have any feelings or attraction towards the brother. The name just slipped up even though I was thinking about my fiancé when telling the stories to his family.
