"My employment history is none of your business".

AITAH for not disclosing my employment history?

I've worked in a few customer-facing jobs in this town. Frequently, people will ask me where they've met me from.

My go-to answer is "Probably here, at this place".

They'll often not accept that as an answer. They'll say: "No, not here, it was somewhere else. Where else have you worked?"

People usually respond negatively to: "My employment history is none of your business."

So I've started coming up with a lie, claiming I used to work for the Mad Science Allience.

That's when it gets interesting, if someone asks what I did at the MSA I could say I signed an NDA. Or I could say I worked in narcotics development. I could say I worked in biomechanocal augmentation. I could say I worked in parasitic weapon optimization.

It's not fair to me that everyone in this town can recognize me, but I have no idea who they are. It's not fair to me they think they're entitled to know where I've worked.
