Windchill Advisories…To Drive Or Not To Drive…

Ultimately I know the decision is up to my husband and I wanted to know what others would do in this scenario.

Husband + me + our cats were planning on leaving tomorrow (1/18) from Chicago to Denver. I see that the temps have dropped quite a bit all along our drive path. Windchill warnings in IL, IA, NE, and CO of -20 degrees, with the exception of CO where the warning is sitting at -10, until Tuesday when it warms up. We have a planned stop in Nebraska which splits our drive up into two days.

Should we postpone the drive or drive through the cold Sunday and Monday? The alternative would be to drive out on Tuesday. There is no real “rush” per say but our apartment is completed devoid of any furniture aside from an air mattress and an iPad.
