Got the Call-First Rolex

I’ve been very interested in getting my first Rolex and for it to be the Explorer I 36mm (124270). I live in a dense urban area so figured it may be best to go to an AD out of town approx 2 hours away. I was ironically in that town for a birthday weekend and stopped by the AD for the 1st time and expressed my interest ($0 spend history). The AD mentioned that they didn’t have any available but that I could write my name down in case something pops up. Just before I left, they suddenly then found that they had a 40mm available for purchase the same day if I wanted it. I stuck to my guns and said no and that I wanted to wait for a 36mm and then proceeded to leave. Fast forward 1 week later, I get the call while out of state, that they have a 36mm for me. Just picked it up and man is it handsome. Glad I waited but also was very pleased on the experience and how polite and respectful they were. Anyways, I’m happy. To good health!
