Rome at Easter

I am going to be in Rome from Friday 29th March to April 1st. I booked this trip totally overlooking the fact that that weekend is Easter.

How will the experience of being in Rome differ at Easter?

Will everything be closed? Will the streets be too crowded to move? Or is it an even more special time to visit the city?
