My mom is freaking me out about Haiti

I’m going on a cruise in march and one of the destinations is labadee Haiti and my mom is saying I shouldn’t go because it’s extremely unsafe. She said tourists have been robbed, sexually assaulted, kidnapped for ransom, and even murdered. She keeps sending me scary articles. I am a female in my twenties going with 2 other females in their twenties (American). Should we be worried? Should we stay on the ship! She’s making me regret picking one that stops in Haiti but we already paid and bought plane tickets and everything!!
