GoA Analysis and Speculations
I've been pretty hype for Guardians of Azuma, and so I've been looking at the trailers and screenshots currently available to see if I could glean anything new or interesting, and some things I've noticed:
Ulalaka (Spring Goddess) seems to be an archer. You can see a glimpse of her in the battle with Lord Ura, and there's also a screenshot with her fighting alongside Subaru, Iroha, and Murasame (who himself might be wielding dual swords?), though you can only see her arm with the bow.
I believe the branched Fire Sword that Subaru and Kaguya use may be one of the Sacred Treasures? At first I thought it was just another elemental weapon, but there's a moment in the trailer where you see the Summer Goddess enchanting that sword, and another scene where Subaru is surrounded by six orbs: four of them holding the drum, the parasol, the fan, and the fire sword. Can't tell what the last two items are, but they might be Treasures connected to light and dark?
The Treasures themselves seem to be connected to a god and/or season. The Drum having a cherry blossom animation (spring), the Fan having maple leaves in its animation (autumn), and since the Fire Sword is seen with the Summer Goddess, I can only assume the Parasol might be winter? The Parasol also has a blue/purplish flower in its animation, but I'm not sure what kind of flower it is.
The Norad elements. We have Hina from Rigbarth (as a SEED ranger), and the steampunk guy driving an airship that looks almost the exact same as the one from RF4. Possible Selphia resident? It would be cool if he was somehow connected to the De Sainte-Coquilles, even. Haven't had one of them as a marriage candidate in a while.
There's also the new organization, the military-clothed people seeking to take out Azuma's gods. They strike a deep contrast against the Eastern setting, so I assume these people are Western in origin. I wonder if they're also from Adonea, and related to any of the nations we know from there. (Former Sechs Empire, now Republic? Kingdom of Roland? Republic of Eucraft?)
This thing turned into part observation and part speculation, lol. But feel free to join in with thoughts of your own! I'm really curious about the game and the setting, and I'd love to have more people to talk about it with as we get more new info.
