Moving 23y f, 25m, 19f

Me and my bestfriends are moving to Richmond hopefully at the beginning of October. We are moving from Des Moines, Iowa. I have a FEW questions. We both are servers, and see a lot of open serving positions, but you never know who’s actually hiring until you get there. I do not want to work at a corporate chain- how is the job market there for restaurant work?

We want atleast a 4 bedroom house, I’ve been seeing a lot for around $2400, is this a reasonable price? I’m not sure if it’s going to be do-able so I’m trying to talk friends into maybe moving into some sort of town home place instead. Any recommendations on those?

What are utilities like there? Where I live I would say electric is $2-300 depending on season, for a house And water is $100-300 depending on amount of people living in house. Is it similar there? I’m very worried we are in over our heads.

Neighborhoods that I absolutely want to stay away from?

Or rental companies to absolutely gear away from?

My last question, is do you like living in Richmond? We have a calling to go here. We are coming from Des Moines, Iowa, and to me I don’t see much of a difference moving there besides the coast being close, and it’s kind of bumming me out.
