Apartments

So I just moved here from Houston, currently renting a room in a airbnb for around 900/month in the 78252 area. I’m curious if anyone could recommend the apartments or areas with decent monthly rates, thinking anywhere from 1.1k-1.5k for 1BR 1Bath. Don’t care for anything fancy but I also don’t want to walk outside and see bums posted up on the sidewalk, or have to shoot someone for mistaking me for a lick.

I’m not sure what or where y’all consider the hood or ghetto but I’ve been told the southeast side is a no fly zone. Would love some additional info regarding this matter also.
