Accomodation in San Diego (mission beach)

Myself and three or four of my friends are looking at coming to San Diego for the summer. We are Irish males and females and would be looking to stay from the start of June until late August. We have no real knowledge of San Diego or the price of accommodation in specific areas, besides a brief google search, and would like to get some more information on the city. We would be going over to hopefully work as waiters or staff at amusement parks (hence why we chose to find a place near mission beach) so our budget wouldn’t be that high in regard to accommodation. If anyone has any suggestions on where to stay, other places to move to if mission beach is too expensive and maybe some general tips on the city it would be greatly appreciated :)) Thank you🇺🇸🇮🇪
