Dune 2 observations. Lack of blood and gore

So I am just wondering how others are perceiving this.

A lot of people die in Dune (and Dune2). A lot of them quite prominently featured. But these movies resist the urge to dramatize gore. There is hardly any blood, no gore, no violence porn shots where the situation very well could have added some explicit material. But all the violence is very impressive enough nonetheless.

It's kind of a Villeneuve thing to not do it when he very well could, but also something that even adds to the overall aesthetic. The thrill of these moments is most of the time not the point and this way the psychological effects of the imagines violence is even stronger with bloody things not smashed into your face. Herbert's writing is also pretty non-graphic usually. I think the movies would be poorer is they served more gore than they do.

I for one enjoy this style very much.
