Why are Americans so lazy compared to europeans in terms of getting exercise?
I'm American myself so don't attack me. I loved in Switzerland for several years and these people are always active. So many pedestrians on the sidewalks, so many cyclists. Exercise is a part of their daily lives. So not only are they exercising at their own leisure when they hit the weightroom or hike or bike in the mountains, but a lot them walk and cycle to get from one destination to the next. They commute to work on a bike. In every Swiss city. And it's like this across Europe. I don't know what it's like in Asia or Africa. But I know America. In most American cities, and im including the Big Cities too, there isn't anyone on bicycles, hardly anyone on the sidewalk. America is extremely vehicle heavy. The only time Americans walk is when getting out of their car to walk from the parking lot to the store which is only a few feet away. Why is American culture so lazy? They would only walk or bike if they are purely doing it for the sake of exercise only. Not as a daily life routine to go from one place to the other. Even if they only walk or bike just for the sake of walking or biking, most americans don't even do that. A lot of Americans are overweight. The Swiss people are very lean. The women fromthe young to the old are very slim.
One thing to add, I don't have a vehicle. I've been back in America for 4 months and I walk everyday. I'm in a medium size city in Hawaii. I have seen bikes but only a few. And almost all of them have ridden on the fucking sidewalk despite there being designated bike lanes on a lot of streets in the city. That pisses me tf off. In Switzerland no body would ever ride their bike on the sidewalk. Wtf is wrong with the people here. Next time I see somebody riding towards me with their bike I'ma block their path and tell em "get tf off the sidewalk!" Or yell in their ear "this is not where you ride your bike!"
