What's with all that people labelling themselves ugly?!

Since about a week I see all over reddit people posting stuff like Help me, I'm ugly!, I'm ugly, I will never date, etc. And it seems to exploded quite recently. What gives? Why are there so many people labelling themselves in such way right now? Have I missed something or what?
