This weeks weird question is gonna be about military

So to start off we are all aware that soldiers join the military in order to protect their country however the country doesn't always have that plan for example the Israeli military, the nazi military, the American military and several more. How do you think a soldier should go about dealing with a situation where he has to carry out a military operation that's against his morals because most of the time you don't get to choose what you do and if you deny orders you are considered a traitor.
