Lip, Dip, Paint

That was the routine I was taught. It didn’t make much sense. I wasn’t very fast.

Brush in the mouth. Then the powder. Then the watch face.

Lip, Dip, Paint

I started getting the hang of the routine. Now I’m able to talk and work.

We got a radio at work today. One of my desk mates brought it in. I think her name is Catherine.

Lip, Dip, Paint

I accidentally spilled the powder on myself. The Boss said he wanted to see me.

Lip, Dip, Paint

Turns out it wasn’t an accident. Catherine intentionally put it on the edge of my desk so it would fall when I sat down.

They rewarded Catherine’s bad behavior by giving her more hours. More hours means more money. This is hurting my head.

Lip, Dip, Paint

It’s been a week and my head still hurts. I went to the Doctor and he told me to take aspirin.

Lip, Dip, Paint

My tooth is in pain. I must have bit on my sandwich funny. Catherine didn’t show up for work today. I wonder where she is.

Lip, Dip, Paint

The Boss said Catherine wouldn’t been coming back. I acted sad. I wasn’t. A new girl took her place. Her name is Mary.

Lip, Dip, Paint

My tooth is still hurting, but on the bright side I painted 200 watches today!

Lip, Dip, Paint

The other girls brought me a cake today for my first month anniversary. I couldn’t eat the cake because of my teeth.

Lip, Dip, Paint

I don’t feel like talking much while working anymore. My mouth hurts all the time.

Lip, Dip, Paint

It’s too quiet in the work place. The Boss has noticed too. He brought us another radio. We didn’t turn it on.

Lip, Dip, Paint

The Boss told me I could go home early today. He gave me a look of pity when he said this.

Lip, Dip, Paint

My jaw broke in half. The Dentist tried to pull my bad teeth out and that happened instead. Ow.

Lip, Dip, Paint

I wish I could steal all the numbers that I painted on the clocks and put that time back into myself. I fear I am running out of it.

Lip, Dip, Paint

They never told us why we were painting watches with our mouths. We have factories for that.

Lip, Dip, Paint

When they told us they wanted to test radium for a second time, I was under the impression it was a miracle ailment.

Lip, Dip, Paint

I hope the radium can cure me. They injected more of it into my body today. They told me it would help.

Lip, Dip, Paint

Wait, why did they need to test radium for a second time?

Lip, Dip, Paint

I cannot move from my bed.

Lip, Dip, Paint

The radium should kick in soon. That’s what they told me.

Lip, Dip, Paint

I think it worked!
