Envious Of Skiers on Wide Planks Riding Bumps

Been lucky to ski consistently this season but have missed every fresh snow dump. Hence chopped up ungroomed terrain. I don’t like being limited on the mountain and for a while now I’ve been envious of people on fat skis that seem like they can plow through bumps and chunder. My widest ski is 106 and I feel like they get deflected a lot in the bumps where I eithe have to hold back or ski super technically. Are fat skis really sturdier in chop or am I getting it wrong?
