How do you "adult" with the financial fluctuations of being a contract SLP?
How do you plan a pregnancy or medical event with the shitty medical benefits?
How do you rest easy not knowing if the District will continue to contract with your agency, if the agency continues to renew your contract, if the contract renewals will continue to meet your financial needs as you get older and need to seriously manage your long term finances (not a CF just looking for a CF placement)?
How do you explain to prospective employers (non contractors) the constant moving around on your resume and make it not look like irresponsibility on your behalf?
How do you know what your salary is going to be if you pick up 1099 work or SNF work which differs from week to week and want to apply for a bank loan for a mortgage?
Like seriously I am grateful for everything I have but I have no kids and own no property. How would I ever change that with the unpredicatability that Speech contracts are under?
How do you live as a single SLP without an income generating spouse/partner to help (USA here)?
