Jake, Grace, Kenzie, and Carrington are all pretending to be "alt" despite never having been a part of the scene. What frustrates me the most is that they're the most well-known "alt" group on the internet right now, yet they're completely inauthentic. Tara has always had an interest in the "alt" style, so I’ll give her some credit, but she doesn’t actually listen to the music or understand the politics behind it. Jake, Carrington, and Grace, however, especially come off as insufferable try-hards. They put so much effort into pretending to be something they’re not.
