Feeling lost after failed placements. Looking for advice on SSC exam preparation.
I'm currently studying Civil Engineering at one of the lower-tier IITs. Although I began coding in my first year and even managed to secure an internship, I’ve realized that I don’t enjoy it at all. I pushed myself to keep coding because I had no other option, but the effort backfired. Over the past year, I forced myself to code daily, and this only made things worse.
In the last 2–3 months leading up to placements, I became increasingly miserable and depressed. My confidence hit rock bottom, and I struggled to prepare properly for placements. As a result, my placement interviews didn’t go well, I couldn’t even communicate properly during them.
Despite knowing the uncertainties associated with government exams, I feel they are my only viable option now. I’m considering preparing for the UPSC, but I think clearing SSC exams first and securing a job would be a better option.
How difficult is it to clear the SSC CGL or SSC JE exams?
How much time should I dedicate to preparation?
Is it possible to prepare for both exams simultaneously?
What will be a better option for me, SSC CGL or SSC JE?
