Startup Failure - How should I leverage this to start my next adventure?

After 4 years of blood, sweat and mistakes I made the decision to shutdown the company. The circumstances suck and it has been a big surprise (I found out Jan. 16 we lost 2 big deals, we decided we had to close Feb. 2). I have never daydreamed about another job, I loved this job. Please share your thoughts on what I should be thinking about and asking myself while looking for my next adventure.

I must make a decision somewhat quick as the main breadwinner, we work with a lot of corporates today so I might get offers from them, Paris has a robust startup eco-system so I may be able to work for another startup or should I freelance for 6 months and figure it all out? Please share your recommendations and thoughts!
