My birthday

My DH (41M) sent me (38F) a WhatsApp message saying he’d pre-booked a restaurant so we could go out 2 days before my birthday which falls on a Saturday. This meant that my birthday fell on a weekend when he has his son, but rather than tell me ‘sorry I’ll have SS on your bday so let’s do something another day’ he sent the above. I was disappointed, told him I’d like to still celebrate on my actual birthday but without him. I’d like to go for a meal with a friend on my birthday and the next day (Sunday) I’d like to go for a solo spa break. He tells me I’m abandoning my family by doing this. He also says I’m overly sensitive about my birthday and all his other exes didn’t care so much about their birthdays. We only just got married, this is my first birthday as a married woman. When it was SS’s birthday I had a work event which I left early so we could go bowling. On DH’s birthday, my 30 year old cousin had just passed away 2 days prior but I still took DH out for dinner, and we all went to legoland the weekend after. I obviously didn’t feel like celebrating at the time but put on a brave face and went along so DH could enjoy his bday. Rant over
