Some tea on Tootsies
Alright, so against everyone's advice, I decided to go to Miami a couple weeks ago since the NE was so slow... And as I'm sure y'all could have guessed, that was a mistake. Most places either straight up turned me down at the door, saying they were too full, or told me to come back for day shift. I ended up working dayshift at Tootsies. I thought it'd be fine, since I'm down to be an extras girlie (only at clubs where that's the norm, but I dance clean at clubs where extras aren't the norm/expectation), but I was NOT prepared for the expectations surrounding extras at Tootsies. I thought I'd be able to charge a decent/medium amount to do extras in VIP and stack rooms, everything with protection. BUT I couldn't sell a single VIP because everyone wanted (1) bare/unprotected (absolutely unacceptable for me) AND (2) the bare minimum price ($150 for me every 30 minutes). I worked an 8 hour shift and left with about $100 post tip out (from a few regular lap dances and stage tips). Maybe it was just a weird day, I did go on a week day, so idk if weekend shifts are better, but it was WILD. Also, a lot of the customers seemed to know each other and the staff really well, which is something I'm not used to. I thought since it was such a big club there'd be more of a tourist/first-timer crowd, but the dayshift seemed to be all regulars (or young people with no money just there to drink at the bar)... Also, I was not prepared for the amount of blatant racism there... I had multiple people tell me about how they come in during dayshift because there are "too many blacks" (customers, I assume) at night (I'm white- passing, so I assume they thought I'd agree with them) LIKE EXCUSE ME SIR WTF?????
Anyone who's worked at Tootsies: was this your experience too or was I just there on a super weird day? I didn't end up going back because the vibes were so collosally fucked, but I've heard there's good money there if you do extras, so I'm confused.
