WRX as a daily driver?

I think I’ve talked myself into replacing my Outback with a WRX as I no longer need the cargo space (and my college kid needs a car that they can borrow in perpetuity).

But two friends who own/have owned a WRX are telling me that “it’s a lot of work as a daily driver” and I’d get tired of it.

I dunno man, I test drove one today and loved it. Yes, it’s a manual but I’ve owned three manual cars prior to this with no problem. Loved driving them all.

Am I crazy? My commute is a 25 minute drive with minor traffic (backroads with one 10 minute stretch of stop and go) once a week. Other than that, I drive to the gym and/or grocery store most other days and take multi-hour highway trips once a month or so.

Is it the aggressively stiff suspension that people think would get old fast? Or do folks just not enjoy driving a manual anymore?
