I plan on eating Subway sandwiches every night, any tips?
I plan on eating Subway sandwiches every night for the next few months. Why?
- I like Subway
- Trying to save on grocery expenses while still eating relatively healthily
- I'm lazy and want to reduce time prepping meals
My plan:
- Use the app and benefit from discounts such as 2 footlong for 1, 30% on weekend, etc.
- I grab the order myself at a nearby restaurant, no delivery fees
- Eat 6" sub per meal/day so I will be reheating some of the meals
- Put a lot of vegetables
- Stick to the lower cost meat most of the time (cold cut trio, ham)
- Avoid meat that need to be heated when initially prepared
- No sauce to avoid wetness/sogginess, I'll put mayo myself before eating
Questions:
- I heard that subs are good to eat 3-4 days after they are prepped, especially those that were not heated when initially prepared, is that correct?
- Are there vegetables I should avoid to avoid sogginess and since I'm reheating the subs at home? I was already thinking of not having lettuce since that taste weird in general when reheated
- Is it ok to have the sandwich artists NOT heat meats that are usually heated by default (chicken, steak) and do it myself? It seems like there is no option to not heat those but if I ask in custom requests would this be respected?
- What is the best way to reheat subs? Bake in oven, broil in oven with inside facing up? Microwave?
