6 Things I Wish Suits Did (But They Didn't)

I'm going to list 10 things I would've loved to see in suits that they didn't do. These could be abandoned storylines or plots that didn't happen that I would've liked to see. It's one of my favourite shows so this list is gonna be interesting lmao.

1 - Harvey and Donna should've gotten together earlier or not at all

Harvey and Donna are two people who Jessica has stated are "two people as close as two people could be without being a couple". This is evident as by the end of the fourth season they clearly have feelings for each other. However, it isn't until the finale of the EIGHTH season they finally are together. This is a problem because they spend SOOO much time focusing on them or at least commenting on their relationship only for either Donna to be with other men then leave them for Harvey or to drag out this storyline. In my opinion, I didn't NEED them to get together so I would've been satisfied with them never being official. I believe they should've started dating maybe at the end of Donna's time with Louis as it seemed to be a good step in their relationship. Or, they should've abandoned the storyline and stay as close friends, not everyone needs to be dating.

2 - Mike and Katrina should've been a couple

I fucking love Mike and Katrina is a great addition to the series that by the beginning of the third season, there was clearly SO MUCH they had in common and strong chemistry. Heck, they have their own inside joke and Katrina hugs him when Mike returns to the firm in season 4. Now that's a good stepping stone in their relationship. I always felt like they screwed this relationship over because Meghan Markle is star power and so they kept the relationship between Mike and Rachel but still, Mike and Katrina seem so perfect for each other I firmly believe they should've been a couple

3 - Mike and Rachel shouldn't have been a couple

Yes, I just said Mike should've been with Katrina. This means I don't love Mike and Rachel, actually, Rachel was the least interesting character out of the main six up to season 7. She would always repeat storylines and get mad over the tiniest things, or be a downright bitch. Now I do like some moments between the two but overall, because of how much Katrina was a better fit for Mike, Rachel shouldn't have been the one he ends up with. I felt like they only did this because they didn't know what else to do with her.

4 - Donna shouldn't have become COO

By the end of the sixth season, Donna thrives to make a name for herself and be an individual who isn't relied on the likes of Mike, Harvey or Louis. The start of season 7 had the strangest thing I've seen in the show from Donna being a legal secretary, to god damn senior partner (when Mike wasn't even one) to then COO all in the span of a day and one episode pretty much. That's the most random and unrealistic thing I've ever seen. All she does is mess things up. Literally, the entirety of season 7 is proving Donna isn't fit for the position by making dumb decisions and almost costing the firm their lease. But then she says she is where she's meant to be? It's dumb.

5 - Samantha Wheeler should've gotten disbarred

Suits has a lot of shady shit and Harvey is no stranger when it comes to disbarrable offences, he literally lies to his clients and hires an unqualified Mike Ross. But Samantha is so much worse, the entire plot in season 9 where they fight to bring her back to the firm after she actually fabricates evidence was atrocious. Why are you risking your career on someone who hasn't spent long on the show and full on betrayed Harvey? Also, why does Harvey feel guilty? She lied to him, forces fake evidence down Mike's throat only to win and not in the best interest for her client. Pretty sure her client would refuse fabrication lmao. She shouldn't have returned as a name partner in the final episode as she was the worst character on the show overall.

6 - Mike shouldn't have left the show

Mike was a main stay for Suits and the main character alongside Harvey. Their brotherly bond is what I watched the show for. But when his actor leaves the show because "Mike's arc was complete" it meant the last two seasons would be screwed, and they were. Now seasons 8 and 9 have good moments and a lot of watchable episodes, but it felt like the show lost itself and needed to add Samantha as someone to rival Harvey when we knew she was a worse attorney. Having Mike leave felt like the show went on cause why not rather than maintaining a proper narrative. Even his return in season 9 was underwhelming.
