Can employer access immigration record?

This is so bizarre, but yesterday my boss told the head teacher that immigration called him recently to say I had a violation from when I worked at my previous hagwon 4 years ago (in a different province).

She wasn't supposed to tell me, but did anyway since we're friends. I told her I never had a violation, and it made absolutely no sense. Neither of us understands why he would lie about this. I told him a few days ago that I won't be renewing my contract (it ends in February) since my salary has been late twice now, and he hasn't paid all my pension.

He's lying, and I'll be checking with immigration myself tomorrow. I just wondered if anyone had some insight as to why he would do this, and if he is able to access my immigration file. I'm not sure how, but I'm worried he's going to try to cause problems before I leave. I'm also concerned that he's making up lies and sharing them to other teachers. It's just so strange.
