It looked like a grueling final challenge, but it was oh so boring (and thoughts on the winners)
I just got around to watching the second part of the finals episode, and my thoughts are the following:
- I didn't like the format of the final challenge. I'm sure it's probably been stated a hundred times over on here, but the constant swimming -- while grueling -- got so boring to watch play out once you figured out that the top swimmers were Jordan, Jenny and Michelle, and it was to Kyland and Tori's detriment.
- I miss the days of the final challenges pairing up men and women during certain stages in order to complete them, which I felt this season would have been amazing to see considering it would have likely forced some strange alliances between feuds like Johnny/Michelle and Johnny/Tori.
- Not sure if this has been done for health reasons in not wanting to cause any emergencies, but I was totally anticipating the final challenge for this big anniversary season to be one of those big race-type scenarios with various stages in it. Instead, you got a water scooter and picked up a coin underwater. So anticlimactic. Also, despite the fact that there was money on the line, it felt like everyone just wanted to get it the fuck over with by that point.
I don't really have any thoughts on the winners. Jordan was unbeatable from the start, and even if Rachel didn't perform her best throughout the final challenge, I still think the entire body of her work throughout the season earned her the win. If we're being honest, Tori probably deserved third place for the same reason Rachel deserved tied for first. Michelle got lucky more than once throughout the season where eliminations favored her by some stroke of luck, and she could have easily gone home. Her bad karma by my view point was deserved because she had this energy in the house that regardless of who was right/wrong rubbed the wrong way.
No notes on the guys, really. Bananas genuinely seemed pleased to get third, and even more happy to have helped the two winners on the women's side. For all of the shit he gets from other cast members, I think this season proves that he's not as bad of a person he's made out to be if you don't come at him by reflecting the biases of other people's beefs against him.
That being said, I'm certain Tori probably still does well enough from her OnlyFans to offset any Challenge final losses
