Season 3: What is the obsession with doing everything faster?

I read how the modifiers for the next season will "encourage you to play aggressively."

When has this game, any other game or anything else for that matter not encouraged people to be faster and more aggressive?

Why?

Why does everything have to be so manic?

Even in a game like Company of Heroes 3 one of the first things you're asked to do requires you to rush across the map as fast as possible.

In Total War games, a game about building up large armies, they seem to think it would be more fun to be constantly attacked when you can only use a limited amount of units. You hardly get time to...learn the game before your essentially Speed-Running it.

Another example is the Self-Checkout is faster scam.

Sorry, I'll try to stick to (this) games but Self-Checkout is...

Why does it seem like the solution/answer for everything is: make them do it faster?

As it relates to games, they create these detailed worlds/environments and then they "encourage" people to play in a way that makes it almost impossible to appreciate the worlds/environment.

I'm sure there're people out there who like to be in a manic state and feel rushed every second of every day but, it's not everybody.
