Do you ever call yourself "Psychotherapist"?

Hi guys,

I am currently getting hours toward LPC and when strangers ask me what I do for living, I say I work as a therapist. Then they ask me "What kind ?". I respond, " mental health". And they go " Oh" and silence follows after. lol Do you ever tell people you are "Psychotherapist"? It sounds more fancier but, I always think that you gotta have doctoral degree to call yourself psychotherapist. But, in NY, people with master degree are sometimes called a psychotherapist. Can we use this title?
